Is your power at risk? (100-2)
God is the source of every leader’s power and He holds each leader’s life in His hands at all times. Read 1 Kings 11:26-33; 12:16-20; 14:1-11.
Solomon walked away from his leadership assignments given him by God. God determined to remove leadership of Israel from Solomon’s family line. After Solomon’s death, Rehoboam, Solomon’s son, failed to follow good counsel from some of Solomon’s advisers and rashly rejected the advice of the elders. “When all the Israelites heard that Jeroboam (a former administrator of Solomon’s workforce that rebuilt a wall in the capitol) had returned, they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. Only the tribe of Judah remained loyal to the house of David” (12:20).
