Are you working to develop core values founded on the Bible’s truths? (123-4)
Christian leaders must filter the counsel of their inner circle through the truth of God’s word. Read Job 24:25.
Job’s loss of family and possessions had him at a very vulnerable time in his life. Job’s friends believed he must have behaved treacherously to have met with such tragedy. At a time when Job most needed the love and encouragement of his friends, he received only their condemnation.
Job’s friends argued from experience, tradition and legalism and their arguments contained elements of the truth. These friends could have become major obstacles in Job’s life. False accusations can debilitate any leader. Even Christian leaders whose dependence is on the Lord will have to fight hard against depression and discouragement. It takes great faith in the one true God and deep-seated beliefs in His character to maintain strength in the face of unjustified criticism from your closest, most trusted teammates.
Are you working to develop core values founded on the Bible’s truths, solid character and a deep seated faith in the one true God? Wise Christian leaders create a foundation during the good days so they have a reservoir of strength during the difficult times. These inner hidden deeper beliefs will need to be so securely founded that they can overpower our own emotion and maybe even some bad advice from our closest advisors when our position and situation are most desperate.
