Do you evaluate the widsom of your decisions against objectives? (133-2)
Like a loving parent, effective leaders urge those under their charge to develop the wisdom, understanding and skills that will lead to their success. Read Proverbs 4:1-9.
Rather than simply teaching the characteristics of success, effective leaders focus on people and invest in them. They create a culture that enables people to develop the wisdom needed to do their work with excellence. They pay attention to details and decisions that are essential to their team’s development of wisdom and common sense. Wise leaders create a culture that affirms wise decisions and holds team members accountable for decisions and actions that demonstrate a lack of wisdom.
Leadership is a privilege and also a responsibility. A leader is a steward who manages resources, including the human resource, God has entrusted to their care. When a leader builds into the lives of others and participates in the development of their team’s potential they act as a faithful steward and create a win/win situation. They please their teammates by helping them develop foundations of wisdom and understanding and they please God by investing in God-honoring development of the team He has entrusted to their care.
Do you have a plan to evaluate the wisdom of decisions and actions at the same time you evaluate the results against objectives? Wise leaders give their team positive reinforcement for decisions that demonstrate wisdom and understanding while achieving expected results.
