It is difficult if not impossible for a Christian leader to lead with the moral beauty of God’s truths unless they are grounded in what is written in God’s book the Bible. Read Psalm 119.

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. Chapter 119 is filled with words of wisdom and extremely practical information for daily life and leadership. Leaders are urged to value the words of wisdom of God and to treasure it more than anything else in life. In these days of rapid change in our society, leaders must remain adaptable but for Christian leaders this adaptability must come from a foundation of timeless truths that allows them to remain principle-driven even in the face of change. Psalm is a roadmap to wisdom, values and principles.

Psalm 119 teaches that if leaders will adopt God’s word as their source for leadership principles the following will be true of their leadership:

  • Their leadership will be blessed (vv. 1-2)
  • Their leadership will remain pure and ethical (vv. 9-11)
  • They will have insightful answers (vv. 42-43)
  • Their leadership will enjoy liberty (v. 45)
  • They will be able to remain steady in difficult times (vv. 67-72)
  • Their leadership will demonstrate wisdom and insight (vv. 98-100)
  • They can realize peace even when all they are leading is in turmoil (v. 165)

The leadership benefits listed above do not scratch the surface of the vast content in Psalm 119 so as a leadership assignment please read through Psalm 119 and list the benefits to a leader who uses God’s word to establish their foundational values.
